Where and when should I have my outdoor photo session?
A photo session can take place anywhere you’d like – a park, a lake, the desert, your home, pretty much anywhere! Child photo sessions and family photo sessions can be held in any city throughout Phoenix, Scottsdale, Cave Creek, Carefree, Anthem, Glendale, Peoria, Mesa, Tempe, Chandler and Gilbert. If you’re not sure where to hold your session, I can make suggestions based on your preferences and goals. Outdoor photo sessions are held at sunrise or just before sunset to ensure beautifully lit portraits.
What will I need to bring to my family photo session?
Your sole responsibility will be to get yourself and little ones ready for picture day, a feat in and of itself! Leave the rest to me. Having photographed several families, I am well-prepared for any situation that may arise during our time together. Just a few things that help sessions go more smoothly include: quilts and chairs for your family to sit on, noise-makers and toys to entertain your little ones, props and accessories.
I want your session to be a positive experience for your little ones with as little stress on parents as possible. Let me take care of the details, so that you can enjoy these moments with your family.
How long are family photo sessions?
I believe in giving children ample time to get comfortable because I know that will yield the most genuine expressions and lead to a fun session for all. That’s why my sessions are never rushed. A typical family session lasts between 45 minutes and upwards to 2 hours depending on location. This allows children to acclimate to the environment and to me. They’ll have time to play, snack, run around and, in between the fun, have their photographs taken.
In my experience working with young families, capturing the individuality of each child and close connection between a family is an art I have mastered. Contact me to discuss your custom portrait session.
When should I book my outdoor family photo session?
To give each family the best service possible, I book a limited number of portrait sessions per month. It is recommended that clients book Children & Family Sessions 6-8 weeks in advance to ensure availability of preferred dates. I will make every effort to accommodate late bookings whenever my schedule permits.
Together, we’ll plan out your perfect session, select an ideal location, discuss clothing recommendations, and more.
